Kia Ora Whanau
We were incredibly well looked after by Elaine at Orana Park today. We learnt a great deal about the animals and had a wonderful day. It was awesome to have the Cheetah keepers chat to us. Their talk was very informative. Interesting that Story, from TV3, ran a piece on their programme tonight about Orana Park's 40th birthday!
At the start of next term we will continue our unit on 'time' in maths and we will move to reading in literacy. We are going to be constructing, decorating and flying kites in Art next term. Should be lots of fun.
Please could you ensure that your child works on their fitness over the holiday period as the Athletics Sports are on Tuesday 25 October! There will also be some cricket on and at the end of the year we will be going swimming.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this term. It has been wonderful seeing the growth and development in the children and in particular seeing their self-confidence increase.
It is with sadness that we say good-bye to Farnaz tomorrow. She is such a positive person and her English has improved out of sight. She will be missed. We wish her all the best in the future and hope that she remains connected with her friends from Ilam.
Have a great holiday everyone. I look forward to seeing the children again on Monday 10 October (....after I have had a little rest!)
Nga mihi nui
Nigel
