School Field Trip

Welcome to Term 2!

Our inquiry topic for term 2 is 'How are landforms shaped?'  On Thursday 18 May we will be going into the city on a field trip.  We will need some parent helpers please.  If you can assist me please let me know.

The plan for the day is:
9.30am   Leave Ilam School
10am      Visit Quake City in the Re:Start mall
11am       Morning Tea at the river
11.30am  Attend the 'Rock-on' presentation at the Museum
12.30pm  Have lunch in the big tree in the Botanical Gardens (next to the museum)
1pm         See the 'Look Mum no hands' Art display at the Art Gallery
1.45pm    Browse around the Museum
2.30pm    Return to Ilam School

Each of the 5 senior syndicate classes will be going to town on a different day in week 3.

Reminder that homework for Term 2 will be the same as Term 1.  Children are to read at least 4 times a week and they must achieve a Mathletics certificate each week.  Please could you assist your child by checking in with them as to how they're going with their homework.

For Literacy we will complete our ANZAC unit this week and for Maths we will start the term with Measurement.  In Art we will be making calendars and doing Art with a Matariki focus.

I'm looking forward to another great term of learning.  Once again please feel free to pop in to the class anytime before or after school.
