Well we are now back up and running!
Review of Week 1
- SSgt Keni came to collect the camouflage net. Once again a big thank you to Burnham Military camp. We have almost finished our ANZAC unit. Some of us just need to complete our reflections
- We have enjoyed learning about time and measurement in maths. We will continue with our learning of measurement next week.
- We have loved our learning through our Inquiry topic. We have learnt about the make up of the earth by cutting open hard boiled eggs! We also did a soil inspection by digging in the long jump pit. We were interested to learn that there is clay underneath the soil at Ilam school.
- Ms Briscoe introduced us to our Art topic which is to produce a calendar. We will also be doing some art through our learning about Matariki.
- Well done to Dominic, Kanye and Conner for taking part in the Rugby Fun Day
Exciting news
I was delighted to hear that both the school and the class are keen to further develop the number of Worm Farms and by so doing develop our Environment project. In week 4 I will purchase two more worm farms, which will double our current number. By the time that term 3 comes round we will be in a position to sell our fertilizer. This will give us an opportunity to learn about marketing and selling (watch out for our webpage...!!!!), research, packaging and customer service.
Once the 4 farms are estabilished and the 'business model' is up and running there will be opportunity for further expansion!
We will run a massive bake sale/sausage sizzle to raise funds for the worm farms and also raise funds for Job the school's sponsored child. Details will follow in the next week.
Week 2
