Week 4 Update

Kia Ora Whanau

Update on current happenings:-
Winter Sport - Started on Friday.  Great to get underway.  We have teams playing Football, Netball and Hockey.  Football reminder - all Footballers must have a pair of shin pads to play on a Friday.
Museum - was an awesome visit on Monday.  The highlight being the 'interactive' floor.  When you walked on the floor leaves flew away and bugs scrambled for cover!
Strike Percussion on Tuesday was great.  They introduced us to all sorts of Percussion instruments from the Marumba through to the High hats and everything inbetween.  We are enjoying creating our own music on the garage band app and hopefully we will let loose a couple of our compilations on the next Team time.
Football - we are half way through our Football programme with Mainland Football.  The children absolutely love these sessions.
Maths - we are learning about measurement at the moment.  We have been trying to work out the length of our paces using various methods.
Literacy - we are getting closer to completing our Bee stories.  Some children will be presenting their stories using devices.
Art - we have completed our plates and our next step will be to use crayon to develop our screens.  in two weeks time we will use dye and rollers.
Inquiry -  we are looking at how seeds grow.  The seeds will be coming home in about a fortnights time.

Happening soon:
A big focus next week will be the Fundraiser for Alzheimers and the SPCA.  Please could you encourage your child to get some sponsorship.
Queens Birthday is on 6 June
Matariki evening is on 8 June at 6pm

Have a great weekend
Regards
