Week 1 Update

Kia Ora Whanau

I will be publishing a weekly blog to keep you informed of what we're up to and also what is coming up.

We have already writing a piece about our goals and dreams for the year and we are exploring the ideas coming out of the book 'If the World Were a Village'.  We have designed our place rocks which we will also use to decorate our tables.

Our swimming days are Mondays and Thursdays but please send your child off to school with their togs on the other days, as well, if the forecast is for a warm day.

Home Learning for the Year
Each week children must complete a mathletics certificate and must read at least 4 times (15 minutes each time).

Children who would like to extend themselves with their home learning are encouraged to work towards attaining a maths and/or science badge.

Family Fun Night
Friday 10 February at school from 5-7pm.  A great way to meet other parents.

Parent/Teacher interviews
Details regarding booking times for these in week 3 will be coming out soon.  The interviews take place on Wednesday and Thursday.  I look forward to hearing from you what I can do to best assist your child with their learning

Term 1 Newsletter
This has been e-mailed to you.

Hats
Please ensure your child comes to school each day with a school hat

We have had a wonderful 3 days in Room 1.  I'm very excited about the year ahead.
