Week 3 Update

Kia ora Whanau

Important dates:
1.  I will be doing a Camp gear check on Tuesday or Wednesday to check the essential items.  I will send out an e-mail on Monday.  Essential items include:  Sunscreen, sand-fly repellant, raincoat, sleeping bag, back-pack or suitcase, plate, mug, knife, fork and spoon, warm jacket and towel.
2.  I look forward to seeing you all at the Learning Conferences on Wednesday and Thursday.  We only have 15 minutes together so please feel free to arrange additional time after Camp if you wish to chat further.
3.  The PTA Family Fun night is on Friday 23 February.  This is always a great night and an opportunity to meet other parents.  I look forward to seeing you there.
4.  School hats:  Thank you to those of you who have arranged hats for your child.  If your child does not have a hat please could you get one for them.  It is a compulsory school item.
5.  Homework:  Please could you sign your child's diary each evening from Monday to Thursday to confirm your child has done their homework.  Your child will also include important information for you in their diary.
6.  Swimming:  We only have about 3 or 4 weeks swimming left.  We will not swim if the water temperature dips below 18 degrees.  If the water temperature is above 18 degrees but the air temperature is below 18 degrees then swimming will be optional.  Swimming is part of our PE curriculum.  We will also be promoting water safety during our swimming classes.
7.  Tonga Support - Mufti day: Wednesday 21 February will be a mufti day.  Please could you send your child to school with a gold coin donation to go towards the Tongan community.
