Room 1 Open 'Day' and Week 8 update

Kia ora Whanau

On Wednesday (28 June) is the Matariki Community night in the hall at 5.30pm.  The classroom will be open from 5pm.  Please come in and have a look at the children's learning.

Next week we will focus our learning around Matariki.  In Inquiry we will start to look at Earthquakes and the focus for our maths will move from fractions to our times tables!

Look forward to seeing you on Wednesday and showing you our worm farms and our latest edition, baby salmon known as alevium.  We will start to feed them in term 3 and they will then become known as 'fry'!

Please let us know if you would like to receive worm juice next term.  We will be selling 2 litre containers of fertiliser for $2.  You will need to mix the fertiliser with 6 litres of water.

  1. What a lot you had to share about your learning on your open night, Room 1. Your classroom looks amazing, full of lots of awesome learning opportunities. It is so cool that you have taken on looking after the salmon. I look forward to seeing them grow and change. Let me know when you are going to release them later in the year. Keep up the great work.
