Room 1 Blog: Week 5 Update

Amazing to think that half the term has passed and in 4 weeks time half the year will have passed! I had the pleasure of attending the North West School choir practise. The singing was amazing! Our new fish tank has been set up in the Science and Tech room and the ova will be arriving next week. The juice from the worm farms was cleared on Friday as from Tuesday the competitions will begin.

We will be selling our juice from Term 3. Our slogan is 'We sell worm number ones!' The children are designing the packaging which will go on the 2 litre containers.

Next week we will contine our focus on fractions during maths, we will use the Run a km for Kids fundraiser as a vehicle to learn how to write persuasively. In Art we will complete our calendars and we will continue to learn about volcanoes in Inquiry.

Please could you support your child with the Run a km for Kids Fundraiser. Proceeds raised will be going back into Ilam school and also to Kidscan. The actual run takes place on Thursday 15 June. All money to be handed in on Tuesday 13 June.

The Year 6's go Kirkwood on Tuesday 13 June and to Cobham on Monday 19 June.

Thank you for encouraging your child with their mathletics and reading homework. I have also added in some spelling words for homework for some of the children.

Well done to Conner and Rithush for being named Man of the match in their respective teams on Friday.
